How to attach the float to the line?

In order for the fish to be successfully caught with your fishing rod, you need to properly prepare the tackle. The bobber is known to be one of the staples of traditional fishing. After all, it is he, painted in a bright color, that informs us about the bite. And for the float to behave “obediently and properly”, you need to figure out how to fix the float on the line correctly.

The method of attaching this part is determined, first of all, by the type of tackle. For this operation you will need: an insulated wire, a fishing line, a rubber tube, a knife and, in fact, the float itself.

Float mount with two sharp points

To secure the float with two sharp points, use a piece of rubber tubing of the appropriate diameter. First, pass the fishing line through two centimeters of a piece of tube, then place the float between these tubes and put them in turn on the ends of the float. The line, thanks to this, will be firmly fixed. But when the depth of the tackle changes, the float can still move.

Float mount with ring

How to attach a float to a fishing line if it has a metal ring at one end? Make a loop of the fishing line and use it to attach the float to this ring. But right away we want to note that this method is far from always suitable, since if the line is thin, then the loop can be tightened very tightly and then your signaling device will “freeze” in one position and you cannot change it.

You can wedge a rod in the tube with a float made in the form of a goose feather. The same simple method is suitable if you want to use a foam ball, cork or bark ball worn on a goose feather as a float.

Another way: fix a stainless wire with a ring outward on the edge of the float. Pull another wire of the same size into this ring. Twist the ends of the wire together so that the length of the wire remains about one centimeter. In a piece of insulation from a standard radio wire, pass the fishing line. Then, pre-twisted the ends of the wires, thread them into this tube. The ends of the wires that you inserted into the insulation will securely fix the float and, at the same time, it remains possible to move it along the line or remove it.

Whichever method of attaching the float you use, remember that it must move freely along the line. The depth of the reservoir can be any, respectively, it may be necessary to change the length of the fishing line that is under water.

Well, in the most extreme case, you can do without a float altogether, using the tip of the rod as a signaling device.
